***Staff thinks I will be ready by late March. Squirrel is an adorable, cuddly little pup with a sweet and affectionate nature. At just 4 pounds, she’s still tiny, though her fluffy brown coat makes her look bigger than her sister. She enjoys playing with her sibling but isn’t too interested in the big dog in her foster home. Squirrel has a medium energy level—she loves her playtime and but also enjoys snuggling up for naps. She sleeps through the night and would be a great fit for any family!***



I am not currently at the shelter because I’m growing big and strong in a foster home! You can sign up to pre-adopt me by placing a $50 choice hold. This is a non-refundable fee that does not go towards my adoption fee, but it does give you the first opportunity to adopt me. Shelter staff will contact you when I’m ready to go home with my new family! To place a choice hold, you can either come into the shelter or call us at 719-473-1741; you may wait to speak with a customer service representative or leave a voicemail. Choice holds are placed on a first-come, first-serve basis and only one choice hold can be placed on an animal.



Once I am old enough to go home, I will have to be adopted at the shelter without a visit. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to visit while I’m in the foster home as it’s a lot of stress on me to be transported back and forth to the shelter for visits, which makes me more susceptible to getting sick. We want to be healthy for our new life together!
