Well, hello there! I’m Opie, the newest spokesdog for Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region. I was adopted from HSPPR back in 2017 to my wonderful mom, Audrie Aylward. I was adopted along with my brother, Jax, who is my best friend and we’re truly a bonded pair.
I like to lounge, but can you blame me? Hanging out at the house is my ideal kind of Friday night since going on walks isn’t really my thing. It’s a good thing my mom is strong, that way she can carry me home once my little legs get tired. I’ve been told that I’m a sweetheart as I like to give unlimited kisses to anyone and everyone for as long as they’ll let me. Especially if that means I can take naps or sunbathe in-between all the love I have to give.
I’m all bark, with not a lot of bite. I may be small, but I know I’m big and tough on the inside. Until stranger dogs approach me, then I’d rather scurry away to safe keeping in my mom’s lap. You can also see my softer side when I’m at home with my “girlfriend”. At least that’s what my mom calls my favorite toy, a little pink pig. I will climb mountains, also known as the couch, to find my piggy so I can peacefully lay down for a nap.
Senior pets like me need a lot of extra love, care, and attention. HSPPR adopts out other senior pets like me and they do so many wonderful things for them! I’m so happy that HSPPR helps older pets find new homes for their retirement so they can have a life like mine too. You can find out more about my animal friends at HSPPR here! And if you can’t adopt right now, you can still show HSPPR you care and help my friends find a great family like mine.
